Epic Village Community Development Corporation will host its inaugural Crown Heights 5K Run/Walk, on August 18th, 2024.
Beginning at 8am, the community event will start at Lincoln Terrace Park and conclude at Brower Park, according to a press release.
The proceeds from this event will benefit families who have been impacted by hate crimes and hate violence, as well as assist families of first responders.
“We are thrilled to host the Crown Heights 5K Run/Walk and bring our community together for such a meaningful cause,” said Dr. David K. Allen, executive director at Epic Village Community Development Corporation. “This event not only promotes health and wellness but also supports families who have faced unimaginable challenges.”
Following the race, participants and attendees are invited to join the street festival featuring live music, food vendors and family-friendly activities. Additionally, there will be an Annual Backpack and School Supplies Giveaway to support local students as they prepare for the upcoming school year.
