New Yorkers aiming to stay active and healthy in 2025 can now take advantage of NYC Parks’ affordable recreation center memberships, offering access to a variety of fitness, sports and community programs.
The initiative supports New Year’s resolutions to stay fit while fostering community engagement across the city’s five boroughs.
"We're proud to help New Yorkers kickstart their resolutions with affordable recreation center memberships citywide," NYC Parks Commissioner Sue Donoghue said on Jan. 3 through a press release. " At NYC Parks, we're dedicated to making fitness and recreation accessible for everyone. With memberships starting at just $25 annually for seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities—and free for kids and young adults under 24—our centers provide incredible value and a welcoming space for all."
NYC Parks’ recreation centers cater to all ages and fitness levels with activities ranging from group classes like yoga, Zumba, and spinning to sports programs such as basketball and swimming. Additional offerings include arts and crafts, dance classes, and community events.
The centers also provide youth programs, senior activities, and free Saturday Night Lights programs at 14 locations.
Annual membership fees vary:
- Adults (ages 25–61): $150 ($75 for six months)
- Access to centers without indoor pools: $100 ($50 for six months)
- Seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities: $25 annually
- Youth and young adults (24 and under): Free
Additionally, adults with an IDNYC card can receive a 10% discount on memberships by presenting the card during registration.
