State Senator Parker Honors Educators During 7th Annual Educational Leadership Breakfast

Among the honorees recognized by State Senator Parker were principals, assistant principals, parent coordinators and parent-teacher associations.

On Friday, New York State Senator Kevin Parker, joined by Councilmember Jumaane Williams, honored the outstanding work of Brooklyn educators during Healthfirst's 7th Annual Educational Leadership Breakfast at Medgar Evers College.

"The Educational Leadership Breakfast series is emblematic of our continued commitment, as we honor dynamic leaders in our community who educate, engage and empower our children daily," said George Hulse, Healthfirst Vice President of Community Engagement.

The Educational Leadership Breakfast series, which recognizes educators throughout New York City and Long Island, is an event created by Healthfirst, a not-for-profit managed care organization sponsored by hospitals and medical centers in New York. For the last seven years, the community has come together to honor various educational leaders as they each received a Legislative Resolution in recognition of their work. Among the honorees were principals, assistant principals, parent coordinators and parent-teacher associations who are committed to fostering scholastic excellence in their district.

State Senator Parker, who represents the 21st District including Flatbush, East Flatbush, Ditmas Park, Midwood, Kensington, Windsor Terrace and Park Slope, enthusiastically joined Healthfirst's efforts in recognizing the important work of the educators.

"The annual Educational Leadership breakfast in partnership with Healthfirst is a great opportunity that allows us to celebrate and honor the educators in our community," said State Senator Parker. "The resolutions presented at the ceremony are a small token of our appreciation for the work our educators do on a daily basis to prepare our children for a bright future."
