Celebrity Chef Winford Simpson has got all of the sauce! Literally!
He is a brand ambassador of his eatery, Simpson's Restaurant and Bar, which offers some of the best soul food in Brooklyn, with a Caribbean flare.
Simpson's is located at 673 Atlantic Avenue, right across from Barclays Center in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. It has garnered a reputation for food that is fresh, flavorful and seasoned to perfection. Patrons rave about the service, the atmosphere and the seafood, in particular the shrimp pasta, the fish cakes and the curried shrimp.
Simpson said he started cooking at a young age, because he had to cook for the family while his mother worked. He said his younger sister initially laughed at his dishes, but it drove him to want to get it right.
"Every time I go into the kitchen, I try to perfect something that I'm making," Simpson said. "I took something that was supposed to break me, and it made me stronger."
Now people remark that they can taste the love and passion in his cooking.
"Food is not just nutritious for you body," he said, "It's also how you bring people together."
