New York Professional Advisors for Community Entrepreneurs (NYPACE), a nonprofit organization dedicated to mentoring small businesses, will be hosting weekly virtual entrepreneurship info sessions every Monday throughout August.
The summer session, beginning August 5, will introduce small business owners to NYPACE’s upcoming eight-week Fall Flagship Program, according to a press release.
NYPACE fosters economic growth and business sustainability by mobilizing experienced professionals from Fortune 500 companies, such as JPMorgan Chase, Ernst & Young and PwC, to assist local entrepreneurs with pro-bono mentorship. Each year, NYPACE matches over 100 entrepreneurs with the necessary resources to grow and scale their businesses.
“Small businesses comprise around 98% of New York City businesses, and there are now almost 1,000 more small businesses than before the pandemic. Given these statistics, it is crucial to ensure they have all the tools they need to survive,” said Ibrahima Souare, executive director of NYPACE.
NYPACE encourages small businesses with an annual revenue of at least $75k, owned by minorities, and located in Brooklyn or surrounding cities to join the info session.
“This info session will provide insight to entrepreneurs looking to overcome hurdles, problems, or stagnation in their business, allowing them to understand the qualifications and how NYPACE can help their business grow," said Rasheeda Frazier, senior program manager at NYPACE. “We believe that small businesses should be able to thrive and create more opportunities for our communities, and this info session is the first step towards that.”
