Industry City, the 35-acre campus on Brooklyn’s waterfront, passed a major milestone as it is now home to more than 650 businesses across its 16-building complex.
The growth of the Sunset Park site comes after a strong year of leasing its retail space in 2024, which brought in 333,000-square-feet in signed leases, up nearly 6% from 2023. So far in 2025, the campus has added another 70,000-square-feet of space in new deals, welcoming 22 new companies in the first quarter alone, according to a press release.
Industry City has welcomed companies and businesses including in media, production, cleantech and robotics. Leasing opportunities on the campus span from solo workstations and small offices to expansive floor plans for studios, labs and full-scale production. Cowork IC, the on-site coworking hub, caters to entrepreneurs and small teams looking for serviced office space without long-term commitments.
Some of the leases from the past year include: Adafruit Industries, a woman-owned tech manufacturing company, Staged to Sell Home, a creative design studio, furniture staging warehouse and appointment-based showroom and Bike New York, which promotes bicycle use throughout New York City and offers free training for kids and adults.
Jeff Fein, senior vice president of leasing, said the growth of the complex has been "tremendous to watch."
"We see tenants consistently expanding, others who are debuting in the U.S. market for the first time and choosing IC, and many who just love the collaboration and diversity our campus provides," Fein said. "We’ve created a one-of-a-kind destination, which is why more than 650 businesses choose to be here.”
