BKLYN Commons will host its 8th Annual Open Desk: Small Business Pop-Up Marketplace on Thursday, Nov. 14, an event for entrepreneurs and small business owners.
The event, at 495 Flatbush Ave., will feature a variety of entrepreneurs, small business owners and service providers. Participants will compete in nonprofit CAMBA's annual pitch competition, with a chance to win up to $5,000 in cash prizes, according to a press release.
In collaboration with New York City Councilwoman Rita Joseph, there will be a free legal clinic offering expert advice on navigating the legal aspects of entrepreneurship.
The event, between 5:00pm and 9:00pm, will also feature the annual Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) Certification Prep Clinic, sponsored by the New York City Department of Small Business Services. This clinic will provide resources to help minority business owners apply for certification as New York City vendors and review the status of their pending applications.
