Brooklyn's holiday markets aren't just an opportunity to support local small businesses this season, they're also the perfect spots to pick up unique and interesting gifts, even for the most difficult family member or friend.
Happening across the borough for the month of December, many of the weekend markets also include performances, live music, pictures with Santa, and workshops for those who want to make their own gifts and holiday decor. In other words, they're there to be enjoyed by shoppers.
BK Reader has rounded up eight of the markets happening across the borough for the next few weekends â" and this list is definitely not exclusive! So get out there and do some guilt free shopping this season.
Weeksville Holiday Market with Black-Owned Brooklyn
When: 12:00pm to 5:00pm, December 11 â" 12
Where: 158 Buffalo Avenue.
Weeksville Heritage Center is partnering with Black-Owned Brooklyn for a free holiday market with unique gifts from local Black-owned brands. The market will include clothes, houseplants, body butters, vintage records, artisanal chocolates and more.
The Crown Heights market will also offer food, warm beverages and live performances by Asase Yaa Cultural Arts Foundation and the Latino Theater for Young Audiences, Teatro SEA and tours of the historic Hunterfly Road houses.

The Makers Show at City Point
When: 11:00amâ"7:00pm, every Friday through Sunday until December 19, then December 20, 21, 22 and 23
Where: 445 Albee Square.
More than 50 vendors will display their unique items, including pet gear, state-of-the-art lighting, apparel and beard oils at the free, annual Makers Show. The market is a mixed-use experiential retail market platform in New York and Boston dedicated to platforming underrepresented artisans and makers and is rooted in social justice, according to its website.
Brooklyn Museum Holiday Market
When: 12:00pm-5:00pm, Sunday Dec. 12
Where: Brooklyn Museum
Stop by the Brooklyn Museum's Holiday Market featuring more than twenty local artisans and vendors offering artwork, jewelry, fashion, home and apothecary goods, and more. Shop one-of-a-kind, handmade items and get into the holiday spirit with performances by carolers and live DJs.
Brooklyn Expo Center Holiday Market
When: 11:00am-5:00pm, December 18-19
Where: 72 Noble Street
American Field, a national, traveling pop-up market of curated local and national goods, is coming to the Expo Center in Greenpoint in time for the holidays.
Discover over 30 unique makers and designers, sample local craft beers and cocktails and shop gifts that give back, like candles from Queer Candle, which donates a portion of profits to the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, an organization aiming to provide free legal services for low-income transgender, intersex, and gender non-conforming people.

Bed Stuy Winter Wonderland 2.0
When: 11:00amâ" 6:00pm, Saturdays and Sundays until December 25
Where: 1368 Fulton Street
The Bed-Stuy Gateway Business Improvement District is hosting a fresh-air holiday market focused on supporting small Bed-Stuy businesses.
The number of vendor spaces has doubled from last year and the event includes outdoor dining and photo opportunities with Santa.
Collaborators include Wells Fargo, Neighborhoods Now and the Urban Design Forum.
FAD BergenXCourt Holiday Market
When: 11:00 amâ"6:00 pm, Saturdays and Sundays, December 4 through 19
Where: 190 Court Street and 51 Bergen Street
Fashion, Art and Design (FAD) Market has two-holiday pop-ups this year only a few blocks apart in Boerum Hill and Cobble Hill.
There will be over 90 small businesses and makers participating, along with a number of events and workshops like glass jewely-making, crocheted wreath-making, holiday family portraits and kid-friendly craft classes.

DUMBO Shop the Studios and Flea Market

Where: DUMBO Archway
Shop the Studios is an opportunity for holiday shoppers to connect directly with 35 artists working in DUMBO, Brooklyn, explore their studios which will be open to the public, and take home an original artwork priced well for the holidays.
The open studio event is free to attend and organized in coordination with the iconic, long-time-running Brooklyn Flea Holiday Market under the Archway, which will be running Sundays through December 19, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

CaribBeing Holiday Market 2021

Where: LeFrak Center at Lakeside
The CaribBeing Holiday Market is back at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside. Presented in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance, this pop-up holiday market celebrates the riches and flavors of the Caribbean, and the month-long experience will feature twenty beauty, culinary, clothing, jewelry and wellness goods from local and international artisans situated in CaribBeingâs yellow mobile shipping container, the CaribBeing House.
The holiday markets are following the typical pandemic protocols like masking, distancing and providing proof of vaccination. Some also have COVID-19 testing available on-premises.
