The Roc Nation School of Music’s Brooklyn Soul Ensemble and Rock/Pop/Folk Ensemble will take center stage at the Chelsea Factory on Thursday, Dec. 5, for a free showcase titled Roc the Mic: Rising Voices in Hip-Hop, R&B, Rock, and Pop.
The event will feature group performances and solo sets of original songs from students who attend the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment at Long Island University in Downtown Brooklyn, according to a press release.
The Brooklyn Soul Ensemble focuses on hip-hop and R&B, performing both original music and popular hits, while the Rock/Pop/Folk Ensemble performs a mix of rock, pop and folk, blending well-known classics with student-composed songs.
The showcase highlights the creativity and artistry of student musicians while offering a platform for their original works.
The event will run from 5:00pm to 7:00pm., followed by a one-hour reception. For more information and to register, click here.
