Luna Park in Coney Island will officially open for the 2025 season on Saturday, March 29, kicking off a three-day opening weekend celebration.

The park's annual egg cream christening of the historic Coney Island Cyclone will be held at 12:00pm. The first 98 guests will also win a free ride and a complimentary egg cream while stock lasts, according to a press release.

"It is an honor to continue the incomparable amusement legacy in Coney Island as we preserve, revitalize and provide an incredible family-oriented experience in NYC," said Alessandro Zamperla, president and chief executive officer of Central Amusement International.

As part of its opening weekend celebrations, Luna Park will also launch its annual charitable initiative. Guests will enjoy discounted pricing on the newly introduced All Day Extraordinary Wristbands, with a portion of the proceeds from sales throughout the weekend being donated to local charities, including the Coney Island Sharks, Operation H.O.O.D., Children of Promise NYC, Urban Neighborhood Services and the Coney Island Public Library.

Boris Loselev, branch manager of the Coney Island Library, said the donation will support the public programs and address the community's needs. "Your funds strengthen not only our programs but also the community we serve, ensuring it remains a vibrant hub of learning, connection, and opportunity," he said.

Derick Scott, director and founder of Operation H.O.O.D. said being part of opening day at Luna Park will mark a wonderful moment.

"When we come together and care for our community, we create spaces where children can thrive and play," he said.

The amusement park is also debuting several enhancements, including new arcade games, renovated retail outlets and a new patio at Salt & Sizzle, one of the park's dining locations. Visitors can also expect expanded operating hours, including daily operations during spring break between April 11- 20, and weekends leading up to Memorial Day, after which the park will open daily.
