Now What? Places to Dance and Laugh on Election Night in Brooklyn

Has this election cycle made you feel– oh, I don't know– exhausted? Or maybe you're elated! Or maybe you're simply relieved that the voting will be finished soon as the nation goes into wait-and-see mode. 

Sure, you could be glued to the television, alone and anxiety-ridden. But thank goodness you live in Brooklyn, where there's plenty of watch parties, comedy shows and dancing as we wait for the results.

Dancing For Democracy 

The Somethin’ Else Bar inside Brooklyn's Dekalb Market Hall is having an election day viewing and dance party. Presented by Rebecca Lynn, sounds will be curated by DJ Misbehaviour, Money Mike and Raw Q. There will be plenty of closed-captioned TVs showing real-time election results. 445 Albee Square W. 7:00pm. Register here.

Election Night Event with Council Member Chi Ossé

The Brooklyn council member will host an event at the bar Singers in Bed-Stuy to close out the election season. 20% of bar proceeds from the night will be
donated to Palestine Children’s Relief Fund to support its urgent efforts in providing aid to the children of Gaza. 30 Kosciuszko St., 9:00pm.

Election Night Party at C'mon Everybody

Hosted by Cholula Lemon, this event, with sounds by DJ Carlos KilledIt, is your best bet to literally dance the night away and fugeddaboutit. 325 Franklin Ave., 7:00pm.

SLOP Election Coverage Show at Brooklyn Comedy Collective

SLOP is a comedy monster made out of Grant Cleaveland, Levi Collins and Joe Harrington, known for their fearless improv sytles. The trio promises a night of laughter, weird sketches and many surprise guests you'll inhale your "I Voted" sticker from gasping! Eris Mainstage, 167 Graham Ave. 7:00pm. Buy tickets here.

NYC Democratic Socialists of America Watch Party

The DSA is hosting several events around the city and there are two in Brooklyn. One event will be held at Starr Bar in Bushwick. There will be drinks, speeches and above all solidarity! 214 Starr St., 8:00pm. RSVP here.
