During this year's WNBA Draft, the New York Liberty opted to pick Okako Adika, a six-foot guard/forward from the University of Southern California, with the team's No. 30 overall selection.
This past season with the USC Trojans basketball program, Adika — a native of Holstebro, Denmark — averaged 7.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and shot a very solid 38.7% from three-point range.
“Okako Adika is a promising talent who we’re really excited about,” said Liberty General Manager Jonathan Kolb.
“As a versatile 3-and-D wing with familiarity in a pro-style offense, she’s someone who we can really use down the line.”
With the selection, Adika became the Liberty's first-ever USC draftee in the franchise's 26-season history.
