Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s (BBG) after-dark illuminated trail, Lightscape will bring a dazzling outdoor experience to New York City in its fourth season from Nov.5-Jan.5 2025.
Lightscape promises visitors of all ages an immersive journey through breathtaking light displays set against the Garden’s winter landscape. Tickets are now on sale at bbg.org/lightscape, according to a press release.
This year’s Lightscape features all-new installations alongside popular returning favorites. New highlights include Ribbon Tunnel, an immersive, kaleidoscopic light experience near Bluebell Wood, and Butterfly Effect, a captivating new sculpture on Lily Pool Terrace. Favorites like Winter Cathedral and the illuminated fountain show in the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden will return with fresh designs.
Specialty dining and drinks enhance the festive atmosphere. Visitors can warm up at Yellow Magnolia Café, which offers a seasonal dining menu, or stop by the Lightscape Bar in the Palm House for cozy drinks. Food and beverage carts along the trail provide mulled wine, spiked hot chocolate, cider, and various snacks.
Tickets range from $24 to $45, with special offers available for Value Nights, Peak Entry, and Off-Peak Entry. New for 2024, 21+ Nights on December 12 and 19 will feature adult beverages and late-night access. Sensory-friendly sessions will be held on December 18 and January 3, providing a quieter experience for visitors with disabilities.
Proceeds from Lightscape’s December 10 Family Benefit will support BBG’s youth education programs, making this event both festive and philanthropic.
