The August event lineup at BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!  is packed with music, wellness and good vibes!

New York City’s longest-running, free, outdoor performing arts festival, at the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park, is wrapping up the summer with reggae, synth pop, a hair and wellness event and AFROPUNK. 

On Friday, August 9, join reggae sensation Jesse Royal, as well as Anant Pradhan & Larry McDonald and Ayanna Heaven for a night of music and dance. 

Following on Saturday, August 10, Belgian synth pop duo Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul will grace the stage, joined by Sinkane and DJ Ushka.

There will be a jam-packed day of beauty, culture and togetherness at the bandshell on Saturday, August 17, which will feature a ticketed event called CURLFEST, a natural beauty festival. 

CURLFEST, which is 100% owned by Black women, will run from noon to 7pm. Attendees will experience the fusion of music, style and empowerment at this event, which features an array of beauty vendors, immersive experiences, panel discussions and an array of food vendors and artisan markets. Tickets are available for purchase here.

Later that day, BRIC takes its festivities to Brower Park in Crown Heights for a free reggae night featuring Lila Iké and a screening of the film Bob Marley: One Love

The celebration concludes with AFROPUNK BLKTOPIA on August 24 and 25. Neo-Soul icon Erykah Badu will headline this two-day ticketed event. Tickets for the two-day event can be purchased here
