Coney Island is The Place to be For July 4th Fireworks in Brooklyn

You can also eat a hot dog, ride the Cyclone and take a dip in the ocean!
Fireworks in Brooklyn

Sure, it's a bit sad that Macy's 4th of July Fireworks this year is back on the Hudson River, but fear not, Brooklyn! Because all the action is in Coney Island.

After you've watched Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest from 11am to 1pm, go take a dip in the ocean, ride the Cyclone and stick around for the fireworks to start at 9:45pm.

The Coney Island Fireworks is at Steeplechase Park, but you'll be fine watching the spectacular display anywhere from the Riegelmann Boardwalk.

If you insist on viewing Macy's fireworks extravaganza, you might be able to see the sky light up – albeit from a distance – from the Red Hook waterfront, as it has the best views of lower Manhattan.

The fireworks barges will be positioned roughly between W. 34th through West 14th Streets, so its best to take the subway and watch from the various viewing stations in Manhattan.

If you're willing to shell out some money, there are some cruise lines offering fireworks viewing specials. One option is the Liberty Belle Fourth of July Family Cruise, a family-friendly affair with cocktails and a DJ spinning music. Tickets start at $189. The Circle Line's special, which includes food and drink, is $299 for an adult standard ticket, $249 for a child.
