The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life will hots its inaugural Great Chanukah Doughnut Duel: a delicious competition celebrating the Chanukah tradition of eating doughnuts. The event will be held on Dec.18 at 7:00pm at the Moxy Brooklyn Williamsburg.
The evening promises to be a celebration of culinary creativity, thanks to a variety of chefs and restaurants that will share their interpretation of Chanukah, according to a press release.
Mesiba, Kubeh, 12 Chairs, Fan-Fan and Reunion are among the participating restaurants that will spoil the attendees to flavors ranging from traditional jelly-filled to adventurous seasonal creations. Co-hosted by food influencer Jeremy Jacobowitz, the event will also see guests vote for their favorites to crown the winner of the “Golden Doughnut” trophy.
“In a year of so much division inside and outside the Jewish community, we’re so excited to bring Brooklynites together to celebrate the holiday of Chanukah and enjoy sweet treats that everyone can get behind,” said Rebecca Guber, the founding director of The Neighborhood.
Tickets are $36, inclusive of all the doughnuts and a complimentary cocktail. The event is 21+.
Event highlights include:
- Live Doughnut Tastings: Guests can taste creations from top chefs and vote for their favorites.
- Community Celebration: A night of fun and drinks celebrating Chanukah together in Brooklyn.
- Talk back: Chefs will share the inspiration behind their delicious creations! Each doughnut tells a story, reflecting the culture, memories, and artistry of its maker.
- Grand Prize: The chef with the most votes will be crowned the champion of the Great Hanukkah Doughnut Duel and awarded the prestigious “Golden Doughnut” trophy!
