Brooklyn's Democratic Primary Election Results are in!

There were no big surprises for many Brooklyn incumbents who regained their seats in sweeping election results

The New York Primary election results are in for U.S. congressional and state assembly seats in Brooklyn.

Two new candidates won the Democratic primary in two newly carved U.S. congressional districts, including Daniel Goldman who unseated Mondaire Jones in District 10 and Max Rose representing District 11; Also in newly formed state senate districts 23 and 59, Jessica Scarcella-Spanton and Kirsten Gonzalez, respectively, won their primary election.

Otherwise, there were no big surprises for many Brooklyn incumbents who regained their positions in sweeping primary election results.

U.S. Congressional Democratic Primaries in Brooklyn

Congressional District 07:

*U.S. Rep. Nydia Velázquez (Incumbent) -- 21,470 with 84.3%

Paperboy Prince-- 4,006 with 15.7%

Congressional District 08:

*U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (Incumbent)-- 22,196 with 87.4% 

Queen Johnson --3,214 with 12.6%

Congressional District 10:(There is no incumbent candidate in this district)

*Daniel Goldman-- 16,686 with 25.8%

Assemblymember Yuh-Line Niou-- 15,380 with 23.7%

U.S. Rep Mondaire Jones -- 11,777 with 18.2%

Carlina Rivera-- 10,985 with 17%

Assemblymember Jo Anne Simon-- 3,991 with 6.2%

Former U.S. Rep Elizabeth Holtzman -- 2,845 with 4.4%

Jimmy Jiang Li-- 1.2%

Yan Xiong-- 1.1%

Congressional District 11: (There is no incumbent candidate in this district.)

*Former U.S. Rep. Max Rose-- 15,871 with 75%

Brittany Ramos DeBarros-- 4,399 with 20.8%

Komi Agoda-Koussema-- 899 with 4.2%

New York State Senate Primaries in Brooklyn

21st Senate District: 

*Senator Kevin S. Parker (Incumbent) -- 8,061 with 46%

David Alexis-- 6,626 with 37.8%

Kaegan Mays-Williams-- 2,844 with 16.2%

23rd Senate District (representing Staten Island and Brooklyn):(There is no incumbent in this district)

*Jessica Scarcella-Spanton: 57.72%

Sarah Blas: 16%

Bianca Rajpersaud: 15.63%

Rajiv Gowda: 7.55%

25th Senate District:

*Senator Jabari Brisport (Incumbent) -- 69.1%

Conrad B. Tillard -- 15.33%

Renee Holmes -- 13.6% 

26th Senate District (representing parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan):

*Senator Andrew Gounardes (Democratic Incumbent in former District 22)-- 64.15%

Former Councilmember David Yassky-- 32.60%

59th Senate District (representing parts of Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan) :

*Kristen Gonzalez: 57.03%

Elizabeth Crowley: 31.89%

Mike Corbett: 6.35%

Nomiki Konst: 1.53%

Francoise Olivas: 1.10%

The General Election is Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Polls open at 6:00am to 9:00pm.
Early Voting begins on October 29 - November 6, 2022.
