  1. This is a perfect example of why it is important to have an equitable distribution of resources and not an equal distribution. Wealthy neighborhoods like Fort Greene or Prospect Heights have no problem raising additional funds to supplement their open street programs to keep them operating at a high level. Under resourced communities like Brownsville are given the same amount and struggle to actually operate the program because the allocated funds are not enough to run the program properly. They need more help. We need EQUITY!
