A Brooklyn man kept nearly 30 dogs in abject squalor in a cavern-like Brooklyn home, packing them into tiny, filthy cages, leaving them so neglected that one of the pups died, police said.

Cops arrested troubled dog keeper Jason Nunez, 30, after an investigation led police to discover the pooches wasting away in a home on Kent Ave. near Park Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant Wednesday night, cops said.

Police referred to the conditions as “deplorable.” Several of the mutts were so malnourished that their rib cages were visible through their matted fur.
