A woman who was sexually assaulted at the Prospect Park subway station last week narrowly escaped when a passerby happened to interrupt the attack, according to police.
The 23-year-old woman was walking down the stairs to the Q train just after 7 a.m. last Thursday at the Prospect Lefferts Gardens station when the man grabbed her from behind and threw her against bars separating the staircase and the train platform, according to police.
The man put his hand over the woman's mouth and started to rip at her clothing and touch her, police said.
