A man hit by a train while trying to pick up his backpack at the Barclays Center station on Tuesday is in critical condition, according to police.
The 23-year-old man was hit in the head by a Q train around 1:22 p.m. while he was bending over on the platform trying to pick up the bag, according to police. He was not on the tracks when he was hit, an NYPD spokesperson said.
The man was rushed to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in critical condition, the spokesperson said.
The incident is the second time a person was hit by a subway train within an hour in the city.
