An out-of-control driver ran over a 14-year-old boy walking his dog in Brooklyn, and the star and crew of a TV show filming nearby rushed to the scene to lift the SUV he was trapped underneath.
The teenage victim was walking a small brown poodle on W. Second St. in Gravesend about 5:45 p.m. Monday when a woman going east on Avenue X lost control of her gold Chevy SUV, police sources said. The Chevy rear-ended a silver Toyota livery car, then jumped onto the sidewalk and slammed into the boy.
Down the block, a crew was filming an episode of “Gravesend,” a mob drama starring Brooklyn native William DeMeo.
“We were filming, and right before they said ‘action,’ there was a loud bang. The car was up on the sidewalk,” said Evan Sumner, 34, a production assistant on the show. “Someone was screaming, ‘He’s underneath! He’s underneath there!’ Lo and behold, he was underneath, not moving.”
