Parents and Students Still on Edge After First Full Week of School

New York City finished its first full week back to school amid an array of legal challenges, anxious parents and dozens of classrooms closed.

New York City finished its first full week back to school amid an array of legal challenges, anxious parents and dozens of classrooms closed.

But barring that, there were no major disasters and Mayor Bill de Blasio is putting week one in the win column.

"We have a huge challenge bringing the nation's largest school system online after a year and a half but it's happened," the mayor said Friday during an interview on WNYC. "It has happened this week, really, with extraordinary success thanks to all the folks that work in our schools."
