’They’re All Terrified to Open the Doors’: Third Murder of an Elderly Woman in Five Years in Brooklyn Senior Housing Development has Tenants on Edge

The three homicides over the last five years all happened in the Woodson Houses, a NYCHA building for 450 elderly residents on Powell St. near Dumont Ave. in Brownsville — and all three remain unsolved.

"What I saw is hard to get out of my head, the worst thing anyone could go through," the son, Stephen Caballero, told the Daily News Monday. "I'm broken, totally broken."

The septuagenarian mother of three and grandmother of nine had no enemies, no debts, and no reason to make anyone angry, her family said.
