Since 1970, the New York City Marathon has attracted runners from all over the world and taken them through the five wonderful boroughs of our city. Over the years, it has become the largest marathon in the world with 51,394 finishers in 2016 and 98,247 (!) applicants for this year's race.
Ideal fall temperatures had not only the runners moving, but also the cheering crowds! Take a look at the beautiful black and white shots captured by photographer Dante Bowen.
