Winter Storm Marcus made its official debut on the East Coast on Sunday. But luckily, New York City and its islands will narrowly miss most of the snow

As the 72-hours storm pounds most of the East coast, the cutoff zone for the storm, where rain turns to ice turns to snow is New York City--  the transition zone for precipitation types.

A mixture of freezing rain and snow is expected overnight through Monday Night, according to weather.com.

Please note, however, that the ice accumulations will make for slick travel conditions. And the wintry mix is expected to change over to all snow late Monday into Monday night with still some light snow accumulation possible.

Also, travel will be greatly impacted overnight through Monday night across a large portion of the Northeast, from New England to eastern Pennsylvania and southeast New York. Expect delays on both roads and at airports through the region.
