Health-Bucks-News-600x350_0Attention all community and Faith Organizations, elected officials, hospitals, foundations and institutions of Central Brooklyn that are concerned about public health: There’s a way you can help your clients improve their health in the most tangible way.

Apply for “Health Bucks” now and get coupons that you can pass on to your clients to use at any of their local farmer’s markets.

The Health Bucks are redeemable for $2 worth of fresh produce at NYC farmers’ markets. The program is coordinated by the NYC Health Department to increase accessibility to and affordability of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables for low‐income New Yorkers.

Organizations can distribute Health Bucks coupons to complement their health and fitness education programming. The Health Department also provides promotional materials, including posters, market maps and recipes, as well as creative ways to distribute Health Bucks.

Visit here to learn more about purchasing Health Bucks for your clients or residents. You can also email farmersmarkets@health.nyc.gov or brooklyndpho@health.nyc.gov if you are located in Brooklyn.
