Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a bicyclist on Wednesday and then injured two others before jumping out of his car and fleeing the scene.
According to reports, cyclist Angel Torres, 46, was struck at about 7:50am Wednesday morning by a man driving a 2014 red BMW at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Halsey Street on the border of Bushwick and Bed-Stuy.
After striking the cyclist, the motorist kept driving and then hit an unoccupied parked car before turning onto Thomas S. Boyland St., where he struck a Toyota 4-Runner that was pulling out of a driveway near Chauncey St.
The driver then jumped out of his BMW and ran off.
Torres suffered a severe head wound and died at Woodhull Hospital. Two occupants of the Toyota 4-Runner were also taken to Woodhull Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
As of Sunday morning, the hit-and-run driver remains at large, according to police.
