The Brooklyn Nets are celebrating 10 years of action in the city and a locally-owned ice cream company is helping fans participate in the most delicious way.

"The Nets are our home team and have been woven into the fabric of Brooklyn for a decade,” said Michael Zapata, CEO of Ample Hills, a Brooklyn-based ice cream company.

“We couldn’t imagine a more incredible partnership with a brand that has deep roots in the community, like us. We’re so excited to offer two new flavors that really celebrate the team’s history at Barclays Center, a neighbor to so many of our scoop shops,” Zapata continued.

Ample Hills has shops throughout New York and New Jersey, as well as in the Brooklyn Nets’ Barclays Center. It was founded in Prospect Heights in 2011.

The company has whipped up two new Nets-inspired flavors named are — Birthday Swishes: Home Court Advantage and Birthday Swishes: Away Game.

Birthday Swishes: Home Court Advantage features dark chocolate cake ice cream with white frosting swirls. Black, white and silver sprinkles are tossed throughout.

The signature flavor and dark color nod to the Nets’ black Icon uniforms. The Icon uniforms have been a staple for the team for the past 10 years. They are still worn during home games.

This special-edition flavor will be available exclusively at Barclays Center in single-serve cups.

Birthday Swishes: Home Court Advantage will be available in single-serve portions, while the Birthday Swishes: Away Game flavor will be available in both single-serve and pint options.

The white coloring for this flavor reflects the Nets’ white Association uniforms the team frequently wears during road games.

The flavor features white birthday cake ice cream with chocolate frosting swirls. In the ice cream are house-made chocolate cake batter bites and black, white, and silver sprinkles.

This flavor will be available in both pints and as scoops across all Ample Hills scoop shop locations.

“Since day one Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Nets have been focused on spotlighting local businesses,” said Andrew Karson, senior vice president of brand marketing, strategy and solutions at BSE Global, the parent company of the Nets and Barclays Center.

“Ample Hills is an iconic Brooklyn establishment, and our fans love their ice cream. We are excited to see this collaboration come to life and to make Nets-inspired ice cream available to our fans both at Barclays Center and throughout Brooklyn. This collaboration is truly the cherry on top for our 10-year celebration,” Karson said.

As part of the launch of the new flavors, fans received 1,000 free samples at the Nets’ Nov. 27 home game. Additionally, Ample Hills scoop shops distributed the first 100 scoops for free.

A portion of all proceeds from the ice cream will stream to the Brooklyn Nets & New York Liberty Foundation. The foundation aims to improve the quality of life for individuals of all ages by focusing on health, wellness and creating a more equitable society.
