+MEDRITE, a healthcare organization founded in Brooklyn, has announced it has opened a brand new urgent care center in Downtown Brooklyn.
The new urgent care center, which is on Flatbush Avenue, will offer a vast variety of professional healthcare services for the urgent needs of Brooklyn residents.
Among the urgent needs the facility will care for includes minor injuries, burns, wound care, fractures, allergic reactions, acute illnesses and infections, according to +MEDRITE.
Services for less urgent needs will also be available at the center. This includes physical exams, sexual health testing, well-woman exams, vaccinations and more.
A spokesperson for +MEDRITE said the opening of its new urgent care center comes at a time when Brooklyn residents are looking to take proactive measures toward protecting their health before the peak of cold and flu season.
To address this, the Downtown Brooklyn center will offer walk-in flu shots, in addition to all of +MEDRITE's other locations.
Currently, the COVID bivalent booster shot is unavailable at +MEDRITE's newest facility, although the boosters are offered at select +MEDRITE locations throughout Brooklyn.
+MEDRITE was founded back in 2010 in Brooklyn, New York. The healthcare organization said it opened its neighborhood urgent care centers as an alternative to primary care physicians.
To remedy long-lead time appointments that are prevalent in healthcare, its urgent care centers do not require referrals, appointments, or anything else to consult with its physicians. Residents of Brooklyn can simply walk in, according to +MEDRITE.
With the opening of the organization's new Downtown Brooklyn location, +MEDRITE CEO Samuel Fisch said he is thrilled to open a new location in the borough where the healthcare organization was founded.

+MEDRITE's Downtown Brooklyn location is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 8:00pm. It is also open on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
