Brooklyn FAM Returns to Prospect Park this October

Cultural performances, dance and art-making will fill Prospect Park this fall as the second annual Brooklyn FAM festival returns.

The Brooklyn FAM festival will take place on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Concert Grove Pavillion on the east side of Prospect Park.

A main feature of this year’s festival will be a vibrant collaborative public art project, the Chair Project, which will be led by Brooklyn-based artist, Annie Del Hierro.

The Chair Project will invite event attendees to take part in creating magazine collages on up-cycled wooden chairs and benches to the question "What does FAMily mean to you, to us?"

Local businesses and gathering places will install the complete art pieces as functional seating that aim to spark new conversations about connection and community.

Brooklyn FAM is a nonprofit organization that works to offer high-quality, family-friendly, culturally diverse arts programming.

This nonprofit provides access to art experiences rarely available to families, often due to prohibitive scheduling, location or cost.
