On Wednesday, the Brooklyn Nets teamed up with Pfizer to surprise 25 children with scholarships to attend the Brooklyn Nets Basketball Academy (BNBA) overnight summer camp in August.
BNBA hosted a basketball clinic for the students on the main court at Barclays Center where Nets Legend Albert King and Pfizer representative Stephen Fascianella announced the scholarships.
The recipients, ages 10-17, were selected through their involvement in four Brooklyn-based community groups including Peace Players, P.E.A.R.L. 31 Inc. Foundation, 5 Boros Basketball and FunSport.
The week-long summer camp will be at Camp IHC and will help children focus on developing basketball and life skills.
Camp IHC is a state-of-the-art facility that offers the best overnight basketball camp experience, combined with a premier camp experience off the court.
