Did you know that swapping out meat in one meal per week saves about 10 bathtubs of water a year?

Why is this important? Well, April is Earth Month, a time when billions of people around the globe join together to promote awareness for the health of our environment, and eating meat impacts the earth's sustainability.

But if you're decidedly a carnivore, and the idea of taking a break from meat sounds harrowing, here's a helpful tip: Beatnic.

Formerly known as By Chloe, Beatnic is hosting a "Love Your Mother Earth" Challenge, encouraging residents to swap out their meat-based meals for one of their yummy vegan options. The challenge is to eat 4-Beatnic meals this month and get one free! And on Wednesday, April 20, they're discounting some of their most popular sides.

It's fast food "fine dining" ... but without the meat.

We're talking Buffalo Cauli Poppers, Crispy Cauli Poppers, Balsamic Roasted Brussels, Air Baked Fries, Mac n Cheeze, or Chicky Chicky Tenders... Hungry yet?

And since a vegetarian diet produces 2.5 times fewer carbon emissions compared to a meat diet, participating in this challenge will not only help your wallet, but also the planet.

Although the offer stands across all of their restaurants, the one you want to try is in Williamsburg, located at 171 N. 3rd Street.

And finally, here's a bonus: For every one person who completes the challenge, Beatnic will plant one tree on their behalf through One Tree Planted.
