A Barclays Center usher and ticket taker has won $25,000 in a company sweepstakes for vaccinated employees.

Mikhaillia Ingram, who has worked at the arena since it opened in 2012, took home the grand prize at the Brooklyn Nets vs. Milwaukee Bucks game, being handed a check by in-arena host Ally Love and John Abbamondi, CEO of BSE Global.

Ten second prize winners were awarded $2,500 each.

Since the sweepstakes was launched four months ago to incentivize staff to get vaccinated, Barclays Center has held weekly drawings for JetBlue airfare vouchers, smart watches and other smart devices, theme park passes and other prizes.

With the culmination of the sweepstakes, the arena announced it had launched a new employee sweepstakes, where all hourly staff who have been vaccinated will be entered into weekly drawings for cash and other prizes.

Employees who have received a booster shot will receive additional entries into the weekly drawings, the company said.

On launching the first sweepstakes, Barclays Center General Manager Adina Erwin said the goal of the promotion was to get employees vaccinated more quickly, “so we can create an even safer environment at Barclays Center and provide exponential health benefits to our community.”
