STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The victim of a police-involved shooting in Brooklyn committed “suicide by cop,” an investigation by the NYPD has determined.

A man allegedly armed with a knife died after he was tasered twice and then shot in an incident involving four officers on Monday on Eastern Parkway near Utica Avenue in Crown Heights.

A 911 call reporting a man with “a gun and a knife” was made by the victim from his cell phone, which was found in his possession at the scene, according to a statement from the NYPD.
