The new store is opening in Williamsburg on December 10
Trader Joeâs is opening its third Brooklyn location next week on Kent Avenue in Williamsburg.
The store, which is a few blocks from the Bedford Ave. subway station, will officially open on Friday, Dec. 10.
Trader Joeâs said in a press release that it prided itself on hiring from the local community, and that roughly 80% of the Williamsburg Trader Joeâs Crew â" and 100% of the storeâs new hires â" are from the neighborhood.
Through the companyâs Neighborhood Shares Program, the store will donate all products that go unsold â" but remain fit to be enjoyed â" to a range of non-profit, community-based organizations, seven days a week, it added.
The roughly 22,000 square-foot building includes artwork that pays tribute to area landmarks and local lore, including the Williamsburg Bridge, the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway, the areaâs prominent biking culture and more, the release said.
There will be a brief ribbon cutting for the store at 7:55am on Friday, Dec. 10 that will be followed by live music, a reusable bag giveaway, and other celebrations. The store will be located at 200 Kent Ave.
