Overall, crime is down in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, but up in Brooklyn as a whole.
There has been an 8.3% decrease in crime reported Fort Greene/Clinton Hillâs 88th Precinct during the week October 25 to October 31 compared to the same period last year.
There have been 11 incidents reported, including robbery, felony assault, grand larceny and grand larceny auto. During the same two-week period last year, there were 12 incidents reported.
There have been three murders and six rapes reported this year in the neighborhood, compared to six murders and nine rapes by this time last year.
Looking at the 28-day cycle, there has been a 10.7% reduction in incident reports this year on last.
The most common incident reported over the week-long period grand larceny, with four reports in the neighborhood.
On Nov. 4, the 88th Precinct tweeted an advisory for people to avoid North Portland Ave from Park to Myrtle Avenues as it investigated a shooting.

Across the borough, there have been 597 incidents reported between October 25 and October 31, according to NYPDâs CompStat, including four murders and one rape in Brooklyn North and four rapes in Brooklyn South. There were 82 robberies across Brooklyn and 119 felony assaults.

A dirt bike rider was hospitalized after colliding with an NYPD SUV at a busy Brooklyn intersection Tuesday, authorities said. The 38-year-old rider was going east on Linden Blvd. just after 3 p.m. when he slammed into the rear passenger side of an NYPD vehicle heading south on Pennsylvania Ave. in East New York, police sources said. âHe was speeding on his bike and he tried to stop, but he was going too fast. Boom! He hit the cop car and flew over it and he landed on his stomach. His bike flipped. No helmet, no helmet,â said Preston Ravenelle, 53.
An off-duty FDNY firefighter pulled over in Brooklyn for driving a BMW with excessively tinted windows sped off after he was caught with an unlicensed gun â" only to crash as he jumped out of his car, police said. Cops pulled Kenyatta Ames over on Myrtle Ave near Lewis Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. When they realized he had a .38-caliber Taurus revolver Ames, 26, allegedly sped off, then jumped out a short distance away. His car kept rolling, hitting another vehicle. No one was hurt.
The Anti-Defamation League is offering a $10,000 reward for information about a possible hate crime in Crown Heights. The organization announced Wednesday that they would give the award to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those who attacked a pregnant woman on Eastern Parkway earlier that day. The 33-year-old woman was walking near Nostrand Avenue when someone threw a drink in her face and made a derogatory comment, according to police. The ADL said the man also tried to hit the woman.
