A Brooklyn federal judge has swatted Sampsonâs request to hobnob at the Somos Uno political conference â" noting in her decision that Sampson, 56, was freed from prison two months ago.
Sampson, an ex-state senator who rose to Senate majority leader, had begged Judge Dora Irizzary to allow him to travel to San Juan for the gathering, where New York political bigwigs and lobbyists alike get together and rub elbows.
