Feeling the urge to explore both physically and mentally? Prospect Park's University Open Air could be the thing for you.

In the fourth semester of the outdoor educational series, professors, researchers and academics who were trained outside of the U.S. are coming to Prospect Park to share their wisdom - for free.

The two-week semester begins on Thursday, September 9, with classes including How to Spot Misinformation and Take Action, where Ayoub (Yubi) Zareie will teach students how to define the most common types of misinformation and discuss how it impacts our personal and social life; Tibetan Method of Purifying Negative Energies, where Dr. Chok Tenzin Monlam will teach students how to purify energies from within with a traditional method; and Women in American Politics: a Global Perspective, where Nadia Batool Bokhari will address whether American society is ready to accept women as political leaders, plus a number of other courses.

All classes are taking place outside along the lawn surrounding the Boathouse.

University Open Air is held by Brooklyn Public Library in collaboration with Prospect Park Alliance. The organizations have said they are closely monitoring COVID-19 cases numbers, and will be requiring students to follow social distancing measures as well as requiring masks for participants.

Classes will be capped at 12 participants per course to ensure the safety of professors and participants, they said, and safety guidelines are subject to change based on the latest guidance from public health professionals and elected officials.
