Overall, crime is up in East New York, and in Brooklyn as a whole.

There has been an almost 15% increase in crime reported to East New York's 75th Precinct during the week June 7 to June 13, compared to the same period last year.

There have been 69 incidents reported, including murder, rape, robbery, felony assault, burglary, grand larceny and grand larceny auto. During the same two-week period last year, there were 60 incidents reported, including two rapes and 13 incidents of robberies.

Looking at the 28-day cycle, there has been a 7.6% increase in incident reports this year on last.

There have been eight murders and 21 rapes reported this year in the neighborhood, compared to 10 murders and 25 rapes by this time last year.

The most common incident reported over the week-long period was felony assualt, with 16 reports of the crime. That is four more reported incident of felony assualt than the same period last year.

The most common incident reported this year is grand larceny, with 432 reports in the neighborhood, 19 less than during the same period last year.

Across Brooklyn:

Across the borough, there have been 492 incidents reported between June 7 and June 13, according to NYPD's CompStat, including one murder in Brooklyn South and four in North Brooklyn. There were four rapes, 56 robberies and 115 felony assaults reported across Brooklyn.

Police are looking for a woman they say grabbed a shaker of black pepper on her way into a popular Brooklyn pizza shop and shook pepper at a 36-year-old patron who was on her way out in what is being investigated as a possible hate crime, NBC News reports. The victim was just leaving Not Ray's Pizza on Fulton Street around 5:30 p.m. Friday when the stranger chucked pepper at her and made anti-Black and anti-immigrant statements, according to police. The attacker then ran off.

Two men were fatally shot outside Brooklyn NYCHA housing projects during a bloody 20-minute span, New York Daily News reports. A 35-year-old Bloods gang member was fatally shot during a barbecue on the grounds of the Hope Gardens housing project about 11:05 p.m. Wednesday, cops said.

A teenager was stabbed to death during an apparent dispute with a man over a parking spot in Brooklyn, according to police. Officials say the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, in front of 158 Decatur Ave. They say 15-year-old Tory Lovik was involved in a dispute with a 48-year-old man.

A Brooklyn man suspected of gunning down his neighbor six weeks ago was charged with the killing on Tuesday, AMNY reports. Law enforcement sources said Marc Wright, 19, shot Jonathan Tucker, 33, at a home on East 94th Street in East Flatbush at about 6:09 p.m. on May 6. Wright and Tucker lived on East 94th Street, down the block from each other. Sources familiar with the investigation stated that the two men had become embroiled in a dispute involving Tucker's girlfriend and Wright's aunt.
