Flatbush Junction BID Launches Upcycle Tree Contest, New Hub for Freelancers

The Flatbush Nostrand Junction BID has launched a supportive hub for freelancers and a new competition for local creatives

Calling all creatives! The Flatbush Nostrand Junction Business Improvement District wants your ideas for its upcycle holiday tree competition.

Although months out of from our colder seasons, the BID wants artists to submit their ideas for the sustainably crafted attraction — which will light up Flatbush Junction's Hillel Plaza during the winter holiday.

The winner will receive $4,000 for their sustainable and environmentally conscious creation, which has to be crafted from recycled or repurposed materials.

The BID is also launching an eHUB for freelancers, which will be a development portal for people from range of professions to meet, communicate and share ideas.

The eHUB will host a range of webinars covering development topics in art, mental health, finance, technology and sustainability in the near future.

The space is for professionals without a brick and mortar location, and there are hopes it will work as a business incubator.

For more details and to apply to the eHUB or upcycled tree contest, visit the BID's website here.
