This Saturday, City Point is the place to be for Brooklyn kids seeking a day of fun.

Entertaining, educational and arts activities from local organizations, shops and learning centers will fill the inside and outside of the Downtown Brooklyn location as part of the Brooklyn Kids Block Party.

The event is being held by Brooklyn Bridge Parents, Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, City Point and BASIS Independent Brooklyn -- which is opening a Pre K through grade 2 campus at City Point in September — and it will run from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

Highlights are set to include games such as Virtual Reality Games with World Explorers Group, Queens Gambit  Spectator Chess with Brooklyn Strategist, and giant Jenga. Music activations will include drum circles with Cumbe Center for African and Diaspora Dance and a NY Kids Club's live guitarist teaching about musical genres and instruments.

The day will also feature performers on stilts and other surprises, and tree ring art, green screen moments, balloon twisting, BASIS Independent Brooklyn science experiments, bouncy house activations, and more.

The event will adhere to city and state guidelines regarding the COVID-19  pandemic, and social distancing and masks are required at all times. In case of rain, the event will be moved to Sunday.
