The husband and wife team behind Fort Greene's much-loved Colonia Verde restaurant has opened new taco joint Disco Tacos in Williamsburg.

Felipe Donnelly, the executive chef, and Tamy Rofe, the restaurant's sommelier, recently opened the doors of new restaurant at 80 North 6th St., along with partner Mac Osborne.

The trio initially launched Disco Taco as a food truck last summer, and much like the brightly lit disco truck, the brick and mortar location offers tacos and small plates from Colombian-born, Mexican-raised Donnelly.

Donnelly's menu is inspired by his Latin American heritage and travels, and includes fresh ingredients like hand pressed tortillas made with masa from Sobre Masa and house-made salsas with charred chilis and herbs. Signature dishes include tacos filled with pork, roasted cauliflower and Baja-style fish; chilaquiles; disco fries; grilled Mexican corn; queso fundido con rajas; and a range of house-made salsas.

The new restaurant is also offering up margaritas, mezcales and natural wines, curated by Rofe, in the colorful, 60-seat indoor and outdoor dining areas for dinner and weekend brunch.

Disco Tacos's industrial dining room stays true to the restaurant's name, with multi-colored neon signs, works by local Brooklyn artists and a collection of framed album art from the team's favorite 70s and 80s vinyls.  A custom, floor-to-ceiling art installation by New York visual artist Nate Myers, inspired by Keith Haring's famed pop art, takes center stage in the dining room, paying homage to iconic New York City disco club Paradise Garage.

Disco Tacos is open Tuesday through Thursday 4:00-10:00pm, Friday 4:00-11:00pm, Saturday 12:00-11:00pm, and Sunday 12:00-8:00pm.
