Overall, crime is down in Bushwick, but up in Brooklyn as a whole.
There has been a 4.5% reduction in crime reported to Bushwick's' 83rd Precinct during the week April 5 to April 11, compared to the same period last year.
There have been 21 incidents reported, including robbery, felony assault, burglary, grand larceny and grand larceny auto.
During the same period last year, there were 22 incidents reported, including five robberies and seven incidents of grand larceny auto.
There has been one murder and five rapes reported this year in the neighborhood, compared with three murders and four rapes reported by the same date in 2020.
Looking at the 28-day cycle, there has been a 3.4% reduction in incident reports this year on last.
The most common incident reported over the week-long period was felony assault, with eight reports of the crime. That is four more reported incident of grand larceny than the same period last year.
On April 14, the 83rd Precinct tweeted that officers were calling on the community for help finding a missing person.
Across Brooklyn:
Across the borough, there have been 465 incidents reported between April 4 and April 11 according to NYPD's CompStat, including four murders in Brooklyn North. There were eight reported rapes across Brooklyn, 45 robberies and 123 felony assaults.
Between April 4 April 11, there were 368 violent crimes reported, 686 property crimes and 39 sex crimes. Data collected by NYPD shows violent crimes in the borough typically occur between 4pm and 5am and high time for property crimes is between 10am and 10pm.

On Saturday night, a 12-year-old boy was shot the chest in Bed-Stuy. Police sources said it was not clear if the victim was the intended target or a bystander. He's is expected to make a recovery.
During the week, Brooklynites took to the streets to protest the police killing of Daunte Wright in Minnesota. Officers shot Wright, a 20-year-old Black man, on April 11 during a routine traffic stop just a few miles from where former-police officer Derek Chauvin is standing trial for the murder of George Floyd.
On Sunday, police in Brooklyn were searching for the driver of a car that struck and killed a pedestrian in Williamsburg. According to police, a 2005 Honda Odyssey struck 52-year-old Angel Aguilar-Duran at about 8 a.m. approximately a block east of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. Aguilar-Duran was taken to Bellevue Hospital with head and body injuries and was pronounced dead.
On Wednesday, a 34-year-old man was found on Linden Boulevard unresponsive with stab wounds to his chest and legs, according to Police. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
