Brownsville Apartments Start at $362 a Month in Huge Housing Lottery

Apartments are available for families of up to seven people, earning between $14,915 and $118,400 a year.

Brownsville's Ebenezer Plaza development has launched its second affordable housing lottery, this time for 106 apartments in the 96 New Lots Ave. building.

The lottery includes 11 studios, 51 one-bedrooms, 19 two-bedrooms and 25 three-bedrooms available, with monthly rents starting at $362 and going up to $2,037.

Those with household incomes between $14,915 (one person) and $118,400 (up to seven people) are eligible to apply.

Earlier this year, a housing lottery was held for another Ebenezer Plaza building at 672 Powell St, Brownstoner reports. The development will include four buildings across two large lots when completed.

The latest lottery is the second part of phase one of the project, which is expected to be finished by summer. All units in the project will be subject to rent stabilization.

Permits show the New Lots Ave. building will include a community facility, three retail spaces, 59 parking spaces for bikes on the first floor, and it will include passive outdoor space on the eighth floor, Brownstoner reports.

Applications for the housing lottery are open until June 8. Find out more or apply here.
