The first was Hakeem, only 16 when gunned down outside his home in a 2010 gang war as his mother and teen cousin Clayton watched helplessly. Next came his cousin Nathaniel, killed at age 19 in what authorities called a gang-related shooting in 2014. The victim’s brother Clayton, now 25, remains in jail after confessing to a pair of payback murders for his sibling’s death.
