Attorney General Letitia James is asking New Yorkers who bought a PS5 gaming console through Prestigious Marketing Concepts that never arrived to file a complaint with her office.

The office is investigating fraudulent sales of the consoles after multiple complaints were made over non-delivery.

Prior to the holidays, Prestigious Marketing Concepts sold PS5 consoles either at or above retail price that it claimed to have the in-demand and available for purchase, yet customers had gone months without receiving them, James' office said.

SILive.com reported dozens of people on Staten Island and in New Jersey commented on a private Facebook thread saying they were contacted by one of six saleswomen, with some commenters knowing the women personally.

The women told customers the company had a direct relationship with Sony allowing them to buy the consoles and have them delivered before the holidays. According to SILive.com, a statement from a company lawyer said the equipment had not been delivered due to high demand, coupled with the coronavirus pandemic. The statement said the company was issuing refunds to all customers who had requested one, and would complete orders for those that would wait.

Attorney General James encouraged anyone who purchased a PS5 from Prestigious Marketing Concepts, but has not received it, to file a complaint with her office online or by calling 1-800-771-7755.
