Biden Taps Former NYC Transportation Chief for No. 2 DOT Job

Polly Trottenberg — who in November resigned as Mayor de Blasio's Transportation Commissioner after nearly seven years — has been tapped by President-elect Joe Biden for the No. 2 job at the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The announcement comes just two days before Biden takes office — and a month after former South Bend, Ind. Mayor and presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg was announced as the incoming Transportation Secretary.
