With the devastating impact the coronavirus pandemic has had on small businesses, there's no more important time to shop local than this holiday season.

To make it easy for shoppers, Brooklyn co-working company BKLYN Commons is holding its fourth annual Open Desk Small Business Pop Up this Tuesday to showcase a range of products and agency services working right here in Brooklyn.

The virtual affair will be live stream across BKYN Commons social media channels and will include live glam workshops, product and food demonstrations, agency presentations, performances and virtual tours, along with a virtual market.

BKLYN Commons Head of Growth Johanne Brierre said the pandemic meant things had to be done a bit differently this year, but the company's main focus had always been on safely supporting members and the community, "while showcasing their diverse product and services."

"Times are hard, and we have to continue to do all we can to keep the small businesses within our walls moving forward."

BKLYN Commons is partnering with live streaming service Streamyard to produce a social distanced virtual marketplace experience for the pop up, which will be taking place at BKLYN Common's Prospect Lefferts Garden Location at 495 Flatbush Avenue. To encourage a seamless purchase experience, each participating business will have a QR code, allowing them to cross-promote, showcase and safely sell their goods and services.

The pop up will be held between 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 24 across BKLYN Commons social media and will be supported by Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, New York City Small Business Services, IMPACCT BROOKLYN, Graham Avenue BID, Bed-Stuy Gateway BID and Inside BKLYN Podcast.
