Amazon announced it will be building a second delivery station in East New York, Brooklyn, soon after announcing plans to develop a first site in East New York at 2300 Linden Blvd.

The second station will be located at 12555 Flatlands Ave.

The company has signed a lease for a 211,000 square foot space it says will create hundreds of full- and part-time jobs paying a minimum of $15 an hour.

Amazon Spokesperson Emily Hawkins said the company was excited to continue investing in New York State with a new delivery station that would provide efficient delivery for customers and create job opportunities for talented workforce.

Delivery stations power the last mile of Amazon's order process. Packages are transported to delivery stations from Amazon fulfillment centers and are then sorted and loaded into vehicles for delivery.

The company has more than 150 delivery stations in the US and since 2010 it said it has created more than 24,000 jobs in New York and invested more than $7.1 billion across the state.

Both East New York delivery stations are slated to open in 2021.
